sometimes when I turn my kitchenaid stand mixer on it won't move, like its slipping, but if i give it a gentle push it runs. it doesn't do it all the time. What could cause this? It looks like when you turn these off, they have to "seat" to be ready to run again. If I look at it, when it doesn't seat at turn off, it will slip when you turn it on. Anyone have an idea of what could cause this...or could it be oil on something? Thanks
if it has an internal saftey clutch this could be worn out or requiring adjustment , another cause could be a sheared woodruff key which fixes the drive pulleys on to the various shafts/gearbox etc

I am having problems with my k5ss kitchenaid mixer. The problem happens when i tryed to even mix butter and sugar the paddle would not rotate under a load. It works fine with without any products in the bowl but as soon as i try to mix anything it just stops mixing. It does not smoke or heat up at all. All of the different speeds do work.

K5A 30 year old mixer will only operate at lowest five speeds. stays at speed 5 as control is moved upwards to ten. Over the past several years it wouldn't operate at speed 9 or 10, and just recently it gave up speeds 6, 7 and 8. Is it clogged with flour and powdered sugar?

My KitchenAid mixer does not turn off. I'm sure it has something to do with the switch which does not stay in the off position. Who can I get to fix this?
