OVEN DOES NOT HOLD TEMP SET ON 550 AND 375 WAS ALL SHE WOULD DO! JSP26G0P1AD GE. i PUT PORK CHOPS IN AT 425 AND IN 25 MIN THEY WERE VERY RAW. iT SEEMS TO COME UP TO TEMP BUT DOES NOT COME BACK ON. IF I TURN THE TEMP UP THE ELEMENT WILL GLOW.

How to cook pork chops

Yum, I love Pork Chops and Taters. I use a skillet and a little olive oil. Heat the pan til oil is pretty hot, you want to sear the pork chops when they hit the pan for about 2 minutes on each side. Then reduce heat to a simmer, add about a 1/4 inch of liquid to the pan. (I use water) Simmer until cooked. Do not overcook as they can become very dry quickly. That's why I add the water and turn the burner to low.

Also, I make this at least once a month;
Cut chops into 3 to 4" strips
Peel a few potatoes, diced (white preferred)
Put olive oil in skillet (get hot)
Add potatoes, searing the outside
Add pork strips, sear for 2 minutes on each side or to desired brownness.
Reduce heat to simmer
Add water to cover the bottom of the pan
Cover
Let them cook slowly while you watch your favorite show or mix up a salad!

These are so tender and juicy!

Of course. Baking in the oven will generally take about an hour depending on how thick they are and uncooked before putting them in the oven.

The bottom heating element in an electric oven exploded as I was cooking pork chops. White stuff got all over the oven. Is it safe to eat the pork?

i would not trust it there is chemicals inside the heating element along with metal particals that you can get in your food... sorry ,but better eat out tonight.... good luck to you...

GE Oven MODEL J KP27WOP2 WG - WILL NOT HOLD TEMP

You can re-calibrate the oven as follows;
press BAKE pad.
select temp of 500 degress or more.
immediately PRESS and HOLD the BAKE pad until "00" appears.
Then press the + or _ pad to adjust temp up or down 5 degrees at a time.
When fimished press the Clear/Off pad.
