The air bag light will remain illuminated if a fault has been detected in the air bag system.
The onboard computer will need to be interfaced with diagnostic equipment to read the fault.
This is also the only way to reset the light.
Good luck, I hope this helped.
no it wont. in order for the air bag light to go off you must get a VW air bag resetter. they sell for about 45 bucks. it will reset the light and crash data. since your airbag light is on the airbags are locked up. once reset they will work again. anymore questions give me an email... I just had my car worked on in one shop, a HYUNDAI ATOS 2000 they fixed a bad windshield wiper mechanism, but after the repair, my airbag light remained illuminated, the garage mechanic tried with 2 diagnostic computers to 'reboot' my cars own computer, but neither of his devices could communicate with my car, I had to go to another garage with a proper computer the repair took only 5 seconds!! sobs!, they charged me $50 for the 'work'......the first garage evidenlty, touched something, and I had to pay the bill......live & learn,. before this I tried all the 'tricks' like disconnecting the battery, first neg, then pos, nothing else worked, damned computers!!
There must be a problem with the air bag system for the light to be on, if the system was o.k. the light would be off and have a stored code. You cannot reset this light with a generic obd2 scanner. You need to access the air bag system and read what codes it has stored. Good Luck.
take the vehicle in to a hyundi dealer they can let you know whats going on by testing the system / was it in an accident do your seat belts work /if you answer one of these questions with a yes let me know I will reiterrate a little more/ Pleas rate my response thank you very much
had the same problem twice it is usually the regulator in the alternator car still charges bur it spikes to 18 volts from the 14.5 volts causing it to trip the air bag light
