Mitsubishi WS-65713 Hi, I have a Mitsubishi WS-65713 and it turns off after maybe 20 minutes of watching. Green wavy lines will appear across the screen. Then it will shut off. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thank you, Rhonda

I have a ws-b55 and it has wavy green lines running through it all of a sudden any ideas ?? tony

This set has a common problem on the signal board. It's a small surface mount regulator that causes the waves. You can replace the board and have to completely map the convergence again or you can replace the regulator and get back to watching with no adjustment. Part is BA09, location is IC9C25. It sits just infront of the Terminal board and is right between 2 capacitors. Be careful not to ruin the board. If you have no experience soldering have a professional do it. It's way too easy to junk a beautiful tv such as this.

Wavy projection and blinking green light which takes about 45min to turn on

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Mitsubishi WS-65713 Blinking green light. TV will not turn on!

These Mits TV's tend to have power supply problems that are well documented on the web, when the symptom is as you describe. And this assumes no other unusual noises were heard before the TV went into shutdown.

The repairs are fairly straight forward if you are comfortable with electro-mechanical dis-assembly, soldering repair, and re-assembly.

Just do a search on Mitsubishi (your model number) and capacitors.

Green light won't stop flashing. Unable to turn off/on or reset.

Unplug the unit for 5 minutes then plug it again. Turn it on. If it does not power up, press the SYSTEM RESET button on the front panel with a pointed object such as the point of a pencil or end tip of a paper clip. The green LED light will flash quickly for about a minute then stops. You may turn on the TV then. The changes you made most recently, before using
SYSTEM RESET, may be lost. Changes you made previously, however, are not lost.

I do not have the service manual but have instructions with pictures. Will email them to you. If you have never soldered check look for instructions on utube and with some practice you will be able to de-solder and solder. A utube video that is great is at Good luck.

Green blinking light

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)
