I have a white GE side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. The front panel of the freezer door is rusting out at the lower corners of the ice/water dispenser opening (paint is bubbling up, door is getting brown streaks down the front). What should do to keep the water or condensation from getting in there? Can I replace the door panel or touch up the paint? I don't have access to the whole model number. It is G??25JEMD WW, where ?? was SS or SW if I recall correctly.
when you dispense ice or water, you are allowing the drip tray to overfill and the water builds underneath the tray until the water reaches the point were it will leak down the front of the door. the water will rust the panel beyond repair. you will have to replace the whole door at this point. hope this helps.

Just started recently and all of a sudden. Fridge is about 7 years old. The door dispenser drips once a second or so. Had to cut the water off to the fridge. From reading around, it sounds like maybe a valve is not shutting tight enough? Is there a separate valve for the icemaker (just curious)? Where is this part and is it easy to replace? Note... This machine also won't give whole ice cubes, only crushed - hasn't for years and I've just lived with it. If you happen to know how to fix that, let me know. Thanks!
