The viewsonic monitor is a good unit.
If the unit takes more than 30 seconds to power up, you have a problem with the power supply and will have to be repaired.

The problem with it taking so long to work or anyone encountering a constant black screen is due to the sub-standard electrolytic capacitors in the secondary of the power supply.
Replace those caps and it will work well again.

Viewsonic va1912wb-3 has solid green LED but a black screen

Hello,

This is a very common problem on this series on monitors. The problem is caused by filter capacitors in the power supply board that have failed. You can rebuild the board and the monitor will be as good as new. Here is a link to repair information for the VA1912wb monitors.

Common failure is the caps in the inverter/power board, look for caps with bulging tops, see example of failed VIEWSONIC monitor due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Your inverter or backlight need to be replaced those are the main components that light up the display.

Viewsonic va1912wb monitor goes blank for few seconds and comes back and this happens very often

Your power/inverter board needs to be overhauled.
Your capacitors on the board are probably burned out.
If you open it up and send me a picture , I may be able to tell you if they are or aren't.
There is also a chance a transistor has gone bad on the board.
