i can understand the situation here is the soluition for you :
1.TRY TO MAKE A COPY
2.if the copy does not happen open the scanner glass and check whether the scanner lamp that is tdo you see any light in the glass glowing or moving
3.if nothing gloes or move then i am sorry to say that you will only be able to print from the printer and nothing else
4.if the printer is in warranty call hp they replace it for you .............................. thank you and hope you do see the scanner lamp
