Westell 6100F: dsl lite on ,internet lite

westell 6100F: dsl lite on ,internet lite blinks/steady, data light out and stays out, no internet, no network device or dsl modem in device mgr, called verizon they said my network card is bad, took pc to store and network card is ok , called verizon again they said to use usb connector at pc end of ethernet cable instead of ethernet conn dont have pc back yet from store but will this solve the data light and no internet problem when i get it home?
