Problem for DISH Network IR Remote Control Remote Control
Remote to TV 1 doesn't work - buttons light up, nothing happens

We had dish network installed almost two months ago. WE've had trouble with the 20.0 IR remote for TV1 off and on since two days after it was installed. The buttons light up sometimes and nothing works. If we reset the system the remotes begins to work 3 out of 5 times. It is so very frustrating. We have 5 tvs in the house, two receivers (one with the DVR), TV 1 has a 2nd tv off of it. TV 2 has a 2nd tv off of it and then a slave tv off of it in the basement. I wish I could find out what the problem is... right now resetting the system doesn't even work... it doesn't work to press and hold the system wizard, either... Nothing happens. That has worked in the past, but it is like it resets itself or something.
Has anyone had this problem? Do you have a solution?

- Hi blueeyephil, Some other comments lead me to believe that our problem has something to due with the lighting/brightness in the room or on the lcd tv... some have mentioned changing the setting on the tv bc it is interfering with the remote signal to the receiver for the dvr. I'm not sure how to do that... I'll let you know if I get it figured out, but it probably depends on each tv. Our tv is an LG...Solution #1

If you are using a dual receiver and having problems with the 2nd tv, the one without the box in the room, do not point the remote to the tv. Instead point it to something on your body! I know it sounds crazy. I had issue after issue with so many remotes. They kept sending me new ones. Finally a tech suggested that to me and it works great. Just press the remote on your arm and it should work. He explained the reason to me but too complicated!

I have a simular problem. Got a new 2 reciever DVR a couple of weeks ago. TV1 report the IR one works sporadically. Hours at a time it will work and then stop. Next day it may work or not. Installer brought us a 2nd IR remote. Same problem. The we asked for the receiver to be replaced. Did that. Day 2, same problem.
