This sounds like a p.c.b fault.a component on the control board is overheating and shutting down, then cooling and passing current etc.you will need the model no and serial no..then try a site called whitegoods.co.uk

Dryer heats for 5 minutes then no heat, but keeps tumbling

Perhaps the flame sensor is not working. If it does not sense heat, it will shut off the gas. You might go online and search for a manual to help you troubleshoot, or go to:

for troubleshooting help and parts. I hope this is of help to you.

Dryer has quit heating

Sounds like the heat coil has went bad you can pick one up at a appliance store, but the cost would be close to buying a used dryer, also check and see if something has gotten on the coil and shorted it out I had a dyer one time that I found a little dead snake on it,I removed it and it work for many years good luck....

Maytag performa electric dyer makes dragging noise drum turns but acts like something catches and makes a dragging or scraping sound

assuming nothing is stuck around drum pull off the front and check the fan. If it is noisy for a few seconds after you stop the dryer then the fan may be stripped on motor shaft. while off you can check the front glides and the rear rollers

It sounds like the drum may be stuck. Turn the dryer on with the door open, just keep the button pushed. Then try to turn the drum by hand, and see if it will start to turn.

most of the time the dryer vent hose, wall vent and dryer vent hole must be clear to allow the dryer to vent, also you can pull dryer hot put you hand on the dryer vent hole turn on and see if it is venting this will let you know if the blower wheel is turning, let me know what you find-mike

Lint Filter

hi there,

i can understand your frustration. i have reviewed the information that i have from Bosch and they indicate that the lint filter indicator light should only come on as a reminder but should not shut off the dryer.

here is my recommendation and also a question:

the dryer is shutting off due to the fact that it's overheating. it's a safety precaution from the manufacturer and it's built in to prevent the lint collected in the lint filter, since it's highly flammable.

check the venting in the back or side, wherever it was installed.
the vent tube is often the cause for the dyer to stop functioning.
if that turns out to be okay, the dyer is equiped with a sensor on the heater. it is possible that it's opening due to the heat generated by the dryer that has nowhere to go.

does the display show any error messages?

can you tell me what they are?

thanks again
