Question about Televison & Video
Having this problem since the summer. The screen will go black, start emitting a squeel and staticy sound. Found out that pushing up on the coaxial cables causes the sound and picture to return temporarily. Any ideas as to what this might be and if it's an easy fix/worth the money to repair it. Thanks
Sounds that this might be the proverbial problem some brands have, specially RCA (funny this problem still exists. It was around even when I was a resident engineer for RCA Corp. 20 years ago and hasn't been modified). This problem relates to the tuner assembly. It is a relatively easy fix for a skilled technical person. The cost of repairing it shouldn't even be close to its replacement value, so, in my opinion, worth fixing. Since I do not know the model or age of your TV set (or the inclination you might have to take this as an excuse to get a new HDTV set - LOL), it is entirely your call!!
Hope this helps. Let me know.

The tuner is bad in your TV it cost around a 100.00 depending on the turner to buy one and do yourself.
A quicker fix if you have video audio input connections is purchase a set of RCA you have video audio cables
They are usually red and yellow ends and have pin type push connector hook one end of the cables to the TV and the other end to your satelitte system ,cable box ,vcr or if you only have an antenna then you can buy a conversion box to hook iot to your antenna.
Disconnect the coxial cable from TV and hook to satellite .vcr or whatever you have
these can be purchased at several electronic places just ask for rca cable
just did this to mine and workd great
if you have questions email me firstname.lastname@example.org put in subject line repair rca cable
