Re: Sound

Try this When the unit is unplugged and replugged, it empties these registers of the corrupt data.
fix is to place a 1mfd capacitor to ground on U13101 pin (15). This
swamps the closed caption data to the micro and stops the reception of
the defective data packet. In the event that later on the resolve the
defective data problem the capacitor can be removed. the close
caption feature will not work with this cap. installed

Zenith inteq iqb50m90w has no sound, hooked up cable box with component cables

To be honest I do not really understand clearly your issue so I will pose a few questions that might clear things for me up:

1. No sound from internal speakers.

2. Speakers have be checked and are not open, disconnected or switched to external or variable audio out only.

3 A DVD or similar connected to a rear video and audio input has no sound.

4. The set had sound when hooked to the bose system.

Do I understand correctly or did I miss something?

If all the above is correct the set has a audio output problem (old trick is put ear directly to a speaker and see if anything, a buzz, faint sound or nothing at all.)

Hey, first thing that comes to mind is that your cables are faulty.

your receaver (or what your tv is connected to) Is causeing the buzz.

Possible reasons: the device has a bad connection or bad signal. Or your powersystem is unstable.

Problem seems with main tuner in this tv as other AV inputs working fine so please replace main tuner (TU2) to solve this issue.
There are two tuners mounted on A board TU1 and TU2, please replace TU2 and part number would be written on tuner itself.
TV is approx 10 years old so I would recommend that do not spend lots of money on it.

I would check to see if you have sound using a DVD or a VCR. If so it is the Cable Box or Satellite Receiver causing the problem. If you still don't , look on your on screen menu for the audio adjustments and see if the speakers have been turned off. Also see if you have speaker switch on the back of the unit.
Hope this helps,

I have proscan 56'projection tv when turn on only have sound and close caption no picture Please some one help1!!! thank you.

check the video connection that is connected to the tv. If you are using RCA style plugs (red, white, and yellow) you can try swapping the colors around (put the red in the white, the yellow in the red, and the white in the yellow on the tv and your other device....cable box, vcr, dvd, etc.) this is a great way to test the cable you are using to send video to the tv. it might just be the cable!

Is your antenna connected or you cable satellite hook up to the TV? you need a signal of some sort to activate the TV circuits. Try a vcr or dvd player hooked to the set put in a tape or a dvd!!

My Grand Wega KF60WE610 has no picture and has a buzzing sound when turned on. If left on the green light blinks and the buzzing sound may or may not occur again. Can anyone diagnose this issue?

That buzzing sound is this kind of Tv LCD Projection, is most likely a issue with the ballast (only if sound cames near the lamp) you can check that just follow the cables that are connected to the lamp, take out the back cover of tv, and keep pushing the switch cover (if not tv will not turn ON). and check if that sound comes from the only board connected to lamp. if it does, you are going to need a ballast very soon.

I recently stopped using cables to conntct my TVs to the DVD player and cable box, and started using RCA plug-ins. But now several of my TVs have an annoying buzzing sound. How do I get rid of the...

Usually what causes the buzzing sound is the shielding on the RCA cables. If all the connections are tight, plugged into the correct receptacle, and you still get the buzzing, then this is probably the problem. If the cables are poorly insulated, the other electronics will cause interference and the buzzing sound will result. Do you have a number of electronic devices stacked together, or in close proximity? A more expensive RCA cable is probably the answer to your problem - one with preferably gold connectors and thicker, better insulated wiring. Hope this helps...

Just bought TV and connected with red,white, yellow and s-video connections. screen says NO SIGNAL. I have a satellite dish and dvd/vcr. the dvd/vcr image shows up on tv screen.

* Possible Problem *
It's not clear how you have each of the components connected to the TV, but you do mention that you used the "yellow" and s-video connections. Those are both video connections. The yellow is a "composite video" connection. Many TVs won't accept signals from both the yellow and the s-video connections at the same time. Usually one will override the other.

* Possible Solution *
Make sure the satellite dish is on and (hopefully) on a valid channel. Try disconnecting the s-video and checking the screen. If it didn't work, remove the yellow connection and replace the s-video cable. Check again.

If the problem persists, please explain how the TV, dish and the dvd/vcr devices are connected to each other (audio cables not relevant).
