my cam will run for a few mins then goes into ''safe mode'' and you have to turn it off and restart it

changed out cassette and then camcorder went into safety mode and it stated remove battery and put back in. did that but still goes to safety mode and wont do anything else... i did turn off then back on . still says same thing.. cant use camcorder....
