My denon dra-697ci receiver volume plays fine for a couple of minutes then the volume cuts off how can i fix it easy

You have bad connections on your circuit boards, if you are handy with a solder iron then you will need to touch up the solder joints.

I have a Denon Receiver, that recently started having volume problems. after listen to any source for about 40min to an hour, the volume either totally cuts out or increases to max volume. This condition...

The control section seems to have a thermal problem, when its cold it works, then warms up(metals expand with heat) it loses a connection. Can be either a solder connection or a component, these are found with freeze spray by a qualified technician.

Receiver goes into protect mode when hitting certain volume level

There is a problem in one of the output channels of the amplifier. That is the only reason it will do this. I work at an authorized Denon service center and have seen this problem several times, but it has never been the same thing that causes it. It has always resulted in extensive troubleshooting to find the problem. One time it was a capacitor in the pre-driver circuit for one of the channels, another time it was a transistor in the same type of circuit. I can not remember all the other causes. But without the proper tools and the knowledge of how to troubleshoot an amplifier circuit you will never figure it out.

Since this is an older model, more than 3 years old, it is no longer under warranty. They get a 2 year warranty from Denon. You can take it to any service center that works on stereo equipment and they should be able to fix it for a reasonable fee. Probable around $125 to $150 depending on their rates. It may seem like a lot, but it is much cheaper than buying a new one.

Since this is really the only option for you, unless you have the tools and knowledge, a FixYa! would be much appreciated and appropriate.

If you would like to troubleshoot it yourself, let me know, I have the service manual in PDF and can email it to you if you like and help you with troubleshooting it. But be aware, it is not an easy job.

Denon avr-5600 protection circuit.

My AVR 5600 has worked flawlessly for nearly 9 years!

Suddenly, when trying to play music (DVD or CD) through my LS32's (JBLPro), once I achieve higher volume, the receiver cuts off.... Using a Symetrex mixer, NO OVERLOAD light on the Denon, it simply cuts off!

Re-cut all the wire connectors... TV movies (5.1) work great at normal listening volumes.... but tonight, when cranking up music, the receiver simply cut off. Blinking light...

How do you reboot the Denon AVR-2807 to factory settings

To reboot, turn receiver off by the small on/off button, not the big standby button. While off press the night and pure direct button at the same time and keep holding them with your right hand while pressing the small on/off button with your left. You will see your receiver menu flash. When you see it flash let go of the night and pure direct button and the receiver will reset it self to the radio station 87.50. The receiver's microprocessor has now been set back to factory. Enjoy this info is straight from Denon's Tech support. I had to do this on mine

Turning volume up on my Denon AVR-485 AMP causes it to turn off

Speaker Impedance:
When speaker systems A and B are used separately, speakers with an impedance of 6 to 16 ohms can be connected for use as front speakers
Be careful when using two pairs of front speakers (A + B) at the same time if their impedance is less than 12 ohms.
The protector circuit may be activated of the set is played for long periods of time at high volumes with an impedance lower than specified are connected.
