Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

Ds wet... A few weeks ago, I was washing my ds (original) with one of them glasses cloths. I didn't know at the time that when you put them on something, they explode the wetness everywhere. I quickly dried off the touchscreen and turned it on to see if it worked. It was majorly off where I clicked. I tried calibration but most of the time it won't move the red square when I touched it. If I push on the touchscreen with two fingers in different places, I see a line of water and it makes a "gushy" sound. Only the touchscreen got wet so I wonder how to dry the insides.... Any help? More info: Everything works but the touchscreen propperly. It holds a charge. I don't have tri-wing screwdriver and cannot get one. In picto-chat, a line goes to the top left corner when I stop drawing or when I first touch. The "press to touch" shows up but goes on with me doing nothing half of the time.

Thanks for trying to help but as I said in the first post, It has beena couple of weeks since this happened. It still does not work. Lately though, I can click the main menu fine but in many games it is not detecting I touched the screen...

Thanks for making that more clear... I noticed another odd thing. Some games the screen works great and others not detectable. And in Final fantasy Revenant wings It dosn't work until I open map and then it only works in there... I am confused as to why this is happening...

Hi, this SHOULD be an easy fix. Just set it out to dry somewhere, but seeing how you dont have a screwdriver, this may take a few days, try a hair dryer on low, or a fan.
Have a happy new year

Yes, but if you do not open it up, it will take months to dry. It is all tihht together, you'll need a screwdriver.

have you tried updating the firmware on the DS? It maybe because of that , that it wont play newer games? You will need to connect the DS via wifi to your home network the same way your laptop etc connects to it and then go into the DS settings menu and choose system update. Make sure the DS is fully charged and connected to a mains charger BEFORE updating. See if that solves your problem for you

Ds got wet and now the ligth comes on but the

In most cases once electronic devices get wet they usually will not work after. You can try to remove any batteries/power, then set it in a warm, dry place for a few days, maybe even a week or so. Then try it again... No guarentee it will work but I have used this method with cell phones and other handheld devices.

A bottle of water exploded in my bag and my ds lite got wet too and now it wont turn on or charge

From what I read online to people that had a DS get wet was remove the battery.... Place the DS in a ziplock bag full of rice. I guess the rices will absorb the moisture left in the unit.. I don't know if this will work ... but it is worth a try.. Most people felt that you needed to leave it in the bag for at least 3-4 days or up to a week.... hope it helps

It may be a bad DS or if you have a game in before the DS fully loads the game's connection is stopped somehow.

DS Lite restarting itself

It maybe that you dont charge it?? The game card may have been damaged not sure... you might have touched the power sliding thing... Try and leave your DS on for a few minutes and see if it turns off.
