Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Bosch My daughter has a Bosch WTA3100 dryer. The on/off switch will not stay engaged. If you hold it in the dryer runs perfectly, but when released it disengages. I have had the top off but cannot see how to get at the switch to find out type, order new and fit. Any help would be much appreciated.

The switch unit on these washer driers has a habit of coming unclipped from th econtrol panel..try turning off the power and pushing on the back of the switch(pushing towards the front of the machine.)if it clicks you may have just repaired the prob.just dont push the button too hard.

Kenmore electric dryer switch does not stay on

you will need to replace this switch as it has a relay on it and the holding coil that helps keep it running is open and can no longer keep the switch on or closed to operate the dryer

Not sure of model but dryer does not stay running when switch is released. As long as you hold switch on it runs and when you release it shuts off. Suggestions?

Check the belt is not broken . If the drum turns when you start it then either the belt switch is bad or the motor switch is not working because it is bad or the motor may be full of lint.

Clothes Dryer won't stay on after switch is depressed.

some of them dryers have a switch other than the push button located behind the console. it also has an identical heat switch beside it. if that holding switch is bad it will not stay running. of the two identical switches the run switch is on the left. good kuck.

Bosch maxx dryer

The manual for our Maxx WTL6500 says to press and hold the Start/Stop button for 4 seconds. "The child safety lock can be released permanently using the Menu button." In our case that means press Menu 3 times then press Change to set the lock on or off.

Bosch WTA 3100 Tumble Dryer ON/OFF switch

The on/off switch is combined with the door release switch in one item - part number 154145 (a little over £20) and my problem was the door interlock bit had failed. The following worked for me :
Plug out, remove top panel, and open door + look up at switch panel - you see 5 slots under the switch panel (the 2 outer ones are mostly covered by the main front panel). Start at either side and work across, using as wide-bladed a screwdriver as will fit across the slot width : put a wood block under blade as a support and lever bottom of panel towards front - each has a plastic pin behind pointing towards the rear, held by a spring clip. Each will pop clear and when all are unclipped you rotate the panel outwards from the bottom edge, taking the timer knob and its drive linkage with it. To get switch out I removed the door and the screws around the main front panel - one is hidden behind a cover plug below the access port (to gain access to bottom screws on main panel, lever the bottom panel outwards along its top edge).

Bosch dryer lint light flashes

My Bosch Nexxt electric dryer had the same problem with the lint filter light blinking and the dryer not running. It turned out that the door switch was not engaging. The service technician informed me that there is a plastic tab (available only by opening the top access panel) that was not fully snapped in place. When he snapped the tab back in place and then secured it with a screw, the door switch fully engaged, the lint filter light went out, and the dryer ran perfectly! I hope that helps you!
