I had purchased the LCD and replaced it. Still nothing black screen, any other suggestions? I am thing about taking the camera completely apart ( filming it, so I can always look back if I forget a step ) and checking all wires, also noticed something that looks like a small battery on the white back plate after removing the LCD screen could this be part of the problem? Thanks to anyone in advance!

SOURCE: white LCD on my canon

Hi: I think you have broken (accidentaly with the fall) the cable with several wires that connect the LC display. My real advice is that you take your camera to a store were they can give you direct support desmanteling the camera and replacing the cable or fixing it. However, Zair already had a problem like yours and the best solutions was given by BowerR64. You can consult on the following page: http://www.fixya.com/problems-solutions/t103443,p294056/Canon-PowerShot-G2-Digital-Camera.aspx (just copy and paste on the address bar) ;) Regards

SOURCE: 6 beeps, something strange on LCD, won't take photos

I'm sure 6 beeps means something but with the Canon makes their manuals they never tell you what it means.

Here is the complete owners manual for the product in case you don't have one:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0900001188/PSA540_530CUGad-EN.pdf

The troubleshooting section starts on pg 89.

If that section doesn't help you, Best Buy may have a solution or any camera in your area can help you.

There is a temporary fix that works sometimes but eventually it will stop working alltogether. If canon can't help, might try this:

SOURCE: Canon S2 IS - LCD screen is white after taking an outside picture

the image is all white or has lines through it.Definitely sounds like a repair issue, and has been a previous problem with the camera in the past. There is a defect in the sensor of the camera, and happens quite frequently in this model. I would try and contact Canon about it, and see if they'll repair it for free. If not, its probably going to cost more than the camera is worth to repair it.

My lcd screen is black

From what I can understand, if the camera is sill able take pictures but is not displaying any thing on the LCD, then it is a problem with the LCD or LCD cable connecting to rest of the camera or LCD driver on main board.

It can be as simple as a loose flexible PCB connection to the camera main board.

My LCD dose not display anything. If I take a picture nothing shows up at all only a black screen. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 is about 2 and half years old. Please help and many thanks My shutter...

Unless it has recently been dropped or the screen cracked, the LCD power drive circuit has failed. Your batteries sound OK if it is taking pictures. 2 and a half years is not an unreasonable life for this camera. I would spend my money and time working toward a new one rather than repairs. Sometimes you can find one on Ebay for parts and may be worth a purchase but don't waste anything on a factory repair. Taking them apart and replacing components is not that difficult and procedures can be obtained online from digital camera REPAIR FORUMS.

I WAS watching my sisters fight. all of a sudden my sister ashley falls on my purse with my camera in side. i go to turn it on. but the screen is all white, wit two black globs. it takes pics but i cant...

There is nothing you can do about that, the LCD screen has been cracked. There is a liquid inside the LCD screen that is the black globs that you describe.
You cannot replace it, you can still take pics with it ....or you will have to purchase a new one.

Very sorry about your luck.Thank you for trying Fixya!

Lcd screen

Well, you're not going to fix this without opening up the camera.

The LCD screen should have to wires going to it. One is for the light that illuminates the LCD. That one is obviously working. The other is for the LCD itself - it sounds like that isn't. Either the LCD needs replaced, or that cable is loose or damaged. I'd suggest opening up the camera, finding that cable (it will likely be a thinner cable than the other), and checking for loose connections, or an obvious break or sharp bend in the cable.

Unfortunately, even if you find the cable is damaged, I'm not sure you can get it replaced. If you're not confident you can take this apart and put it back together properly, I'd suggest either taking it to a repair shop, or just using it as is. I'd hate to see you damage it further. If you are confident, however, check that cable. If it's good, contact Samsung about a replacement LCD.

Psp dosent screen is completly black

You may need to replace the LCD screen. I have encountered this on several occasions and by simply replacing the LCD is takes take of the problem. If you are running the old style PSP you can buy a screen for about $25.00 US, if you need the newer "Slim" model the screen cost is about $53.00 US. The job is quite easy to do and if you buy the screen it usually comes with the special screw driver needed to remove the screws to take it apart.
Let me know if you need help in locating the parts and assistance in repairing the PSP, I can help you start to finish.

Replacing nikon s200 lcd, is it difficult?

There is not an actual camera repair manual (if only!) but do not try to take the camera apart on your own. 90% of the time you'll only cause more damage to the camera.
On the bright side, there are many electronics stores that will gladly replace it for you or offer you a refurbished version of the same camera.
Needless to say, I wouldn't try to replace it on your own of fear of messing something else up.

Turn on camera but the lcd sceen is black

I tried all the solutions offered on the net and none worked except one. It simply said "hit the camera with the palm of your hand" (when it is on) and the screen will return. I thought, well I have nothing to lose and so I hit it on the side and sure enough the LCD is again working !!! Contacted Canon prior to this and they had no idea but suggested I send it in to be repaired at a cose of $163.50 Australian. Pleasant staff they have, but no help in solving what looks like a common problem of Canon cameras. I will have second thoughts purchasing Canon from here on in.

Pentax Optio 555 LCD screen blank problem

No I don't believe it is your shutter, more than likely it is a LCD Screen problem. I would suggest you take your camera back to the shop where you purchased the camera and have it serviced under warranty. I had a customer with an Optio 550 come in and it looked like every shot was taken through 'venetian blinds' and the problem was with the LCD Screen and the camera was sent back to Pentax and repaired under warranty.
