Re: dvd player not working
The disc may be jammed. try using a paper clip straightened a bit and insert into the little hole in the front of the dvd door. that should release the dvd drawer. if the drawer can not be pulled out because of a disc jam, you can try to close the drawer again and gently shake the dvd player side to side, front to back to jostle the disc back into the tray/drawer. then try the eject button again. failing that, you can try to remove the outer case and that ought to give you access to the disc, and allow you to see where it is relative to the tray. try that and let me know how you are progressing with this problem good luck mark

I had this problem when copying an old family vhs tape. I had to unscrew
the top of the magnavox to access the vhs tape. Then, I gently removed
the tape and replaced the cover. After winding the tape back, I put it
in the player and immediately pushed fast forward for about 3 seconds
before hitting play followed by d.dubbing. I was able to make a copy of
the tape and did not damage my original.
1: set tv to channel you want your vcr output to be on. 2: turn vcr on (if it is a vcr/dvd combo make sure it is on vcr) 3: put in video tape. 4: press play button one time, release it, and then press and hold it for three to five seconds. i had to call customer support to figure this out on mine.
I had this happen once and all I did to correct it was to fast forward it just slightly or manually wind it past the leader strip (the clear or white part at the beginning). To do it manually, there is a small hole you must insert a toothpick (or something else as small) to push the pin in and then advance it with your finger while holding the pin in. Hope this helps.
on my magnavox mwr20v6 i cant record my vhs to dvd i get black screen every time and my DVD are new and I just open my magnavox after a long long time and ecsup for get my VHS record to DVD it is fine I would like to fix this issue :(
On a unit I checked with this same symptom, removing the top cover allows the unit to stay on and operate normally. There is some sort of sensor at the left middle of the chassis, which, when unblocked by any opaque object, allows the unit to remain on. A temporary fix (not advisable) would be to replace the top cover with a piece of clear plastic or taut saran wrap (no vent holes needed). It's unclear exactly where/what that sensor is from a cursory test. This is a work in progress on someone else's machine that I lack full access to.
