6A80 error is an APP position error. It means that an error has occured when the motor was running during the purging operation on start up.Check the sheet feeder and purge unit.Sometimes pieces of paper stuck in purge unit.

This error in this printer is seen when the Printer experiences " Error LCD ". To resolve this issue, you need to reset the whole machine by process which follows:-
If the Error returns, try to take it to Canon service Center, they will resolve the printer's error of 6A80 because this error can also indicate that the Scanner is totally jammed for any Hardware issue.

Solution #1: Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction
device
Reset the device when it is not functioning properly.
If the device is not functioning properly or to clear
memory, reset it.
1. On the operator panel, press and hold the
button for one second. (The display will go blank.)
Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if
pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.
2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the
button again.
3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling
process before submitting another job request.
