HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA 4146B will not read store dvds

Hi,

You should have enough memory to burn DVD and it eats a lot of time... Also before burning, close all other applications running as to set the computer for burning your DVD's set it to Maximum priority, which means you should not use the computer when the process starts. Disable also your screen saver and use an appropriate DVD-disc, pay attention to the specification of your DVD drive... If it has a DVD+ then use a DVD-CD that has a "+" sign, Don't burn too much DVD so your burner will last longer or won't easily damage... have it rest for awhile before burning again.

i have the same burnig program on my laptop and there it works fine.

Hello,
It would appear that the problem you are experiencing could be due to 1 of the 2 following items;

1. Re-install the software driver & software that came with the drive.

2. Set the region /Country that the drive will be working in or the language that you understand (USA=Region 1). It should be noted here that this option has a limitation of being changed up to 5 times but once it hits the fifth time the drive will be permanently set to that region and can not be changed anymore for the rest of the drives lifetime!!! The drive will usually work fine once it has been set (the default from the factory is ZERO (NOT SET)) and that may work fine for a while but it should be set to a region and it will understand all previously burnt /movie dvds that have this option set in the data already.

my HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N has a problem i cant up date the drivers in my computer it is missing so if in incert a cd it cant be found my HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N has a yellow exclamation an status Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
