i have three usb's on the computer it does it with all of them, and yes i installed the cd also

  • Anonymous Jul 29, 2008

i have a memmorex mmp8585 and a dell desktop with windows xp.

occasionally i get the message about not being recognized like 20% of the time but when it does work its fine(able to charge, update song list, ect.) ive been able to charge it on my Xbox 360's USB port as well.

anytime i plug it into a USB it will freeze instead of charge and i have to reset it(small pin hole to the right of headphone jack). it will not work on anything i plug it into until the next day or something.

the few times it happens not to work are annoying as all hell. anyone know why this is. i have a feeling its the player not the computer.

In control panel... have you tried the install new hardware wizard? You might have to point it to the drivers yo installed with the CD, or put the CD back in and navigate to the files there.

Hi bigmax,
this could be many things.
The reason i suspect is from port speeds.
Most HP computers have different speeds for their ports.
Try putting the USB into a different USB port
This should work.
Also make sure you install any CD's that came with the player.

My PC will not recognize my Memorex MMP8595 mp3 player. I have windows media player and I can create a playlist but when I request the songs to sync to my MP3 it will not do it. The option is on...

If you're on XP, just plug in the player and wait until it says "Ok to remove", then hold play for 5 seconds, and it will switch to USB storage mode.

Mp3 isn't playing transfered music

Limewire is definately not a great site to use. the quality is sometimes and most of the time horrible. try Free Studio Player 2.2. just google it and its the first link. it is just like limewire except it can get any youtube video/mp3 from the video you want. so you know what your getting. plus there are no viruses! good luck!

By default, it looks like the device mounts as MTP when you connect via USB (media transfer protocol).
[See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Transfer_Protocol]

There is a tutorial on the Memorex Electronics website:
[See http://memorexelectronics.com/html/downloads.php]

Look for "MMP8565 Digital audio player with 1GB flash memory"
And the "Product Tutorials" for a pop-up tutorial.
(Note: The MMP8568-HIT looks pretty close to MMP8565).

However, I found that if you hold down the Play/Pause button while connected via USB, it will change to mounting as USB Mass Storage Device Class (USB MSC).
[See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_mass_storage_device_class]

This will make the media player look like another USB flash drive, and let you see it as a removable disk drive (e.g., "F:")

From there, I see:
F:\MUSIC
F:\PICTURES
F:\PLAYLIST
F:\VIDEO

And, Windows Media Player also sees the files.

Simply drag-n-drop to the directory (e.g., using Explorer) to add/remove files from the MP3 player.

I prefer this method, as I don't need to use Windows Media Player at all.

Well it sounds like you did something to your computer because if it worked one time it should still work, try restarting both your computer and MP3 player and try Sync again. Hope this helps =)

Help!!!!!!!

Do you know the File format that the phone uses? Sometimes they use MIDI or WMA. If it is MP3, Try downloading some free software, try the pirate bay website and teorrent yourself bitpim or IMto3gp. these are Cell phone programs good at converting files and syncing them. If the Memory is removable like an MICRO SD, pick up a USB media port that lets you plug the Memory card directly into you PC via USB and just drag and drop your MP3's as if its a Pin Drive, Put back in fphone and should work. Just make sure you drop it in the right folder.

One thing to try is to update your Media Player to the latest version. IT may solve this problem.

Another thing to check is the Sync settings. Make sure you do not have it set to "Manual Sync" as this will not automatically transfer your music over to the player.
