Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40 Digital Camera
My camera when is turn onn doesnot display anything but a grey screen with the word access them the lense goes in and out and the screen says turn the camera on again, then shuts off, what SHOULD I DO
I called Sony at 800-222-7669 and was told to turn camera off, remove battery, turn camera on holding the power button for one full minute, put battery back in and power up as usual. Probably the one minute drains the residual energy in a capacitor.
I passed the info to my wife but she had solved the problem by tapping on the front to release a bind on the lens coming out. Probably caused by handling during her trip to California. So I don't know if the one-minute thing works but it is certainly worth a try.
Hope this helps you!

Do you have it plugged into the computer with the usb cord? Mine says Access when plugged into the computer, but as soon as I unplug it it works normally.
