I bought a used R2400 and after replacing all cartridges with new Epson ink I noticed that only the left 4 colors show up in print. The right four wouldn?t show up in the prints nor in the nozzle check. It looks suspicious that they are completely absent ? if they were clogged I would imagine some signs of color would still be seen on teh nozzle check. But nothing is visible. At the same time the status shows all cartridges as full and no errors during the self-test. Of course I tried the printer utilities like Auto Nozzle Check and Cleaning and Head Cleaning. Nothing helps. I followed the tips from the FixYa folks and tried to clean the nozzles and ink pad with Windex. It didn?t seem to make any difference. Can you help?

- Another problem I noticed is that the ink level is dropping drastically even though I wasn't printing anything except for the nozzle check.
Thank you

- I don't have much esle to add. To summarize:
The four right colours are absent. I have tried to run the cleaning sequence multiple times but no avail. The 4 colors are missing completely - it doesn't look like clogged nozzles. The left 4 are perfectly fine.
The ink is disappearing rapidly - I just bought new cartridges and after several cleaning runs they are near zero - I can't imagine cleaning take this much ink.
Pls help

- Hi,
Are you suggesting to shake the cartridges or the printer itself after the cartridges are removed?
thx
There are supposed to be nine cartridges in it and all of them are to be configured individually. here is a site that says so:-
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Specs&oid=53540920&category=Products Go to it and find out more about it. Use the User guide that came with it to configure the cartridges individually..
It is highly possible that the jet is bad. My best suggestion is to call epson and ask them to send you a replacement. The printers have a one year manufactures warranty. One tip I can offer is to ALWAYS buy the extended warranty form best buy or walmart, wherever you buy the printer from. Instead of repairing the printer, they ALWAYS send you a brand new one. I had a printer replaced four times once. Instead of sending me the same printer at the end, they sent me a replacement with a scanner, fax etc. All in one. So it pays to spend the extra $30 for the warranty.
Please turn off the printer then remove the ink cartridge from the printer then shake it for about 10x then do not turn on yet the printer wait for 10 minutes until you install back the ink cartridge and turn the printer on. Then test it if it helps.
If that printer was sitting for many months without printing it could be that the printheads have become dry. And only replacing them will fix the problem. which means going to epson and cheaper to get a new printer ,depending on the cost. Also make sure the four colors on the right are indeed for the R2400.

- If you run the head cleaning program it uses quite a bit of ink.

- You can also try to reset the printer using this program: http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

I am a teacher. Printer #1 stopped accepting paper...no matter what size. It would make two quick attempts and a box came up saying "paper loaded incorrectly" an some other short message. I have been loading paper the same way for the last four years. I then tried my back-up 2400. It is doing the same thing. Help! Dennis
