Terrible feedback sound

I have webcam on my computer. My friend has one also, same brand, microsoft vx-3000. When I talk to him there is a terrible feedback. It hampers the sound and voice. We have tested and changed sounds and voice and it is still terrible.

    I have the same problem!

  • Jeff_k Jan 05, 2008

I installed a webcam VX 3000 on my son's computer we can both see each other fine. He can hear me fine; however, I receive his audio poorly (crackling sound).

He is using XP with external speakers connected to a LAN.

I'm using Vista on a Laptop connected to wireless.

I positioned his camera on his monitor. I turned his external speakers away from the camera (with its built in mic).

Is this a hardware/software issue on his computer; or a problem on my end with the Vista software; or something else.

I'm going to try and webcam with another family member to see if I can hear them ok.

Any help from this forum will be appreciated.

    thanks

    I

I'm having the same issue. Everything was working fine, but I was trying to hook up with my brother who was having software issues. I got it set up but then this feedback issue started.

Picture quality terrible on Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Webcam

You should be able to adjust the focus by adjusting the lens. The little housing where the lens is should be able spin a bit. If you gently spin it a bit, it should change the sharpness of the image on the screen.

I hope this help you.

Sound

Normal 0 The problem is that your microphone is picking up feedback from your speakers when you talk because the speaker volume turned up. Try lowering the volume. If this doesn't work I suggest you use a set of headphones and it will eliminate this problem completely.
Hope this helps. Bud

Awful High-pitched Noise and Echo Feedback

Normal 0 Two things can cause static.
First, If you have your speakers turned up to high it will give you feedback causing distortion and static. I recommend using a headset when videoing.
Second reason is, if you are using a laptop and have added an external microphone between the two it will cause distortion and static.
Not knowing the configuration of your computer makes it harder to analyze the problem.
So hope this is of some help. Bud
