Question about Koss KS2503 System

1 Answer

Ratoms My KS3102 just started displaying "Your selection is unrated and exceeds the player's rating limit" when I put a DVD in to watch it. It wants me to put a password in to override it, but I don't know what the password would be. I'm the only one who's ever owned the system, and it's never asked for a password before. Any ideas? We have a Koss 5 disc DVD/CD/MP3 DVD RECEIVER unit (model # KS2503). Overnight, the unit 'decided' it would not play the unrated Seinfeld DVD without a password. Strangely, we played this DVD the day before without entering a password. After questioning all three of our teenagers for possible root cause for this newly required password (!!!) we decided our unit developed it's own mind (AKA: Koss HAL unit). We read postings on this site and entered password "0000" and can now play this DVD. Thank you very much for providing the solution to our problem!

Sound no picture

Hi,i suggests there is a loose or broken connection on your video connections between the Koss KS3102 System dvd player and tv. Having sound suggests the optical pickup is fine. If you did not have sound then the Koss KS3102 System dvd player could have been broken. If checking the connections doesn't work, try a cleaning disk.

Take care.

Surround sound for DVDs.

If your DVD disc supports it, you will have to enable surround sound from the DVD, as well as the speakers.

Help!! Would like to use my ks3102 as a dvd only. How can I do this? Where do I put the plugs in the tv and the dvd? I get a great picture, but no sound. Thanks - I appreciate any help[. Joe in PA.

As far as video connections you can use either one of these connections
As far as audio, you can use the 2 RCA outputs (left - right) marked with the number 4 at the following diagram
Connect these 2 RCA outputs either at the tv's audio in (in case there is one) or use a scart to RCA (with SVideo connector) adaptor (you can ask for this at your local tech store). Use this adaptor at the scart port of the tv and connect at the adaprtor's RCA the RCA audio outputs and the SVideo at the SVideo (number 8) of the DVD player.

Surround on my system

Have you tried what I said and changed the settings in the DVD?
Also, is it a built in DVD player / TV combo, or a separate unit? You can try doing a hard reset..Unplug the TV from the mains, disconnect all cables from tv and wait for 1 hour. Then press the power button on TV and plug in the mains. Same if your DVD player is stand alone.
Try that and let me know..

KS3102 Digital Optical Input Problem

What I did was turn on the system, don't put in any dvd in, or select an output 1 or 2. Press Menu on the remote, the display on the system display, not on tv should show Speaker, and other options. Select Input, select the one you want to use as the Optical Sound by press enter, then it will ask you on the system display input or optical sound input. Select optical input and press enter it will then say saved. You can then hit exit til goes back to where the display is back on main screen, or just wait til it exit by itself.

KS3102 - Audio Input help!!

Hey I have the same home theater and experience the same audio problem from time to time. What you have to do is use the menu button on the remote and select all the speakers again. For some reason this home theater just turns off the speakers randomly from time to time. Now I'm experiencing problems with video not displaying on different inputs. I'm getting a new home theater, I think this one has had it.

Had the same exact problem today. Called and e-mailed Koss today and was told player was made by Koss Electronics, not Koss headphones and that Koss Electronics went out of business. Finally just started hitting random 4 digit combinations and would you believe 0000 works? lol
