I believe NEC has Fn key combinations that not only toggle the video output selections, but there is another that will turn the display on and off. I know on HP, the video toggle combination is Fn + F4.

Try pressing the "FN" button, along with the "F" button that has the TV screen. Usually F5 or F6.
