DVD stuck inside, player won't turn on, standby light does NOT flash

Hi,

So I have had this player for a couple years and recently it started flashing the standby light, and I read about changing the c316 capacitor out and I did, and it worked great for awhile after that. But all of a sudden it's not working again, and the dvd player won't even eject. The standby light will show the machine's plugged in, and then when I press any button, it goes off for maybe 5 seconds and then just comes back on. I don't even hear any noise going on inside the machine. The capacitor is soldered in and everything, made sure the negative post was on the dashed side, and I know that all of the capacitors look fine, not bulged. What else can it be?

Test the capacitor with a meter to make sure it has the value stated on it.
the work on this unit is quickly exceeding its present value, most likely.
consider upgrading to a higher resolution unit if the fix is more expensive in parts and time than a new unit costs.
good luck

23. Press 0795 (this sets key 5 – the DVD button flashes twice)

Done - the remote is now programmed and ready to use

1. Now to make your player region free use the Sony remote that came with the player to bring it out of standby and wait while HOME is displayed
2. Make sure there isn't a disc in the machine.
3. Now on the OneforAll remote press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (The blue 24p light on the player will start flashing)
4. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote
5. That’s it, the next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback
If the blue 24p light doesn’t flash then it hasn’t worked, try a new set of batteries and start a fresh
