Re: wifi - packard bell laptop

I sometimes have the same problem and usually it's because the router somehow looses connection with the laptop. You may require a stronger router/different kind of router. Have you tried to move the location of your router first to see if that could be one of the problems ?

Hope this works for you.

Can not find wireless

1) Boot into BIOS to check if you have accidentally turned wifi function off.
2) Check if you have deactivated your wifi (by accident), because you pressed the switch which turns the wifi off (or Fnc+ F...).
3) download the latest wireless driver (use a free driver updater software which will do the trick for you... I have been using slimdrivers free, but there are a lot more out there...)

Cannot switch on wireless connection Packard bell laptop does not have switch

Wireless problems with a Packard Bell PC or laptop can be caused by a variety of issues.

The best troubleshooting resources are the documentation that came supplied with the computer, and the Support section of the Packard Bell website.

Unable To Detect Wireless Network

If the Packard Bell machine is unable to detect a wireless network, the computer itself or the network could be at fault.

Check that a wireless signal is being broadcast via another PC or device, and check that are wireless adapter is installed, complete with the latest drivers, which are available at the Packard Bell website.

Unreliable Wireless Network

If the wireless connection is unreliable, intermittent or very slow, it suggests a problem with the Wi-Fi broadcast.

Try positioning the computer closer to the router broadcasting the wireless signal, or use a signal booster to improve the range.

Download and install the latest driver updates from the Packard Bell website and through the Windows Update tool.

Unable To Connect To Wireless Network

If the computer can detect the network but is unable to connect to it, a network security key may be required. This should have been configured by the person who set up the network. Consult the documentation that came with your router for details of how to change it or generate a new key.

Hope this helps

How do activate my wireless on packard bell

possible you will need a driver. just go on the device manager highlight the top pc icon(your pc name) and click on search for hardware changes and it will search the internet for a wifi driver.
Please note you will have to be connected to the internet via network cable.
what do you realy mean ''activate'' can you search/see the router you would like to connect? if yes you will need the code from the router not Laptop related.

No wireless network in range. My wireless network is set to automatic but I am getting the message above when I search for wireless networks. I know there are at least three here.

If you are so sure of three wireless networks in range then it could be the HW problem in the laptop. Is the green light indicating WiFi lighting on? May be your WiFi switch is non functional. So switch on the WiFi and then look for LAN. Login and not searching a LAN are two different problems. If you cant search the wire less LAN then how can you log into any. So it has to be HW problem as you cant locate any although there are three available. So start at the WiFI switch.

Wifi turns off in every 10=15 min

In the configuration settings for the adaptor look to see if there is a CAM (Constantly Awake Mode). Also in the System settings in Control Panel for the adaptor there may be a setting for Windows to switch off for power saving.

Livebox internet connection

Hi, the IP protocol is installed and configured when the network adapter (your wifi card) is installed. try re intalling the driver by right clicking on My Compter, go to properties then device manager. right click on your wireless adapter in the list and choose uninstall. reboot and then run the process again to re-install. it will be in the list with a yellow question mark. right click and install driver. you need to download the driver first from packard bell's website.
