Question about Teac P11/KIT Thermal Printer

Teac p 11/kit thermal printer

Hey.... i just got this thing... the first time i used it things went fine, however now, when i go to print it tells me to reset printer... when i go to do that it tells me that it's not on, or plugged into the computer (it is!) or to make sure the driver is installed correctly... i have re-installed it a few times.... i have windows xp... help!!!!! thanks a bunch......... joe romer

    i have the same problem the one i purchased was refurbished i'm working on a solution i am also using XP it looked soooo nice when i got it to print the first time now its just frustrating i have faith that a solution will come up

    I have the same problem. The first time it worked fine. Now it tell me that the drivers are not loaded or the printer is not on. Can someone help me with this issue?

    I just purchased a Teac P11 thermal printer. The software that cam with the products gives me an error message that it's not compatible with Windows XP logo. I have searched the Teac site but don't see where I can download updated software. Suggestions?

    This worked, this time. Will keep trying it if it works the next time this issue comes up. The solution provided mentioned that this is a relabeled Primera Signature Z1. So I went to their website (Teac had next to nothing as far as support). Primera had more stuff. While browesing their manual it said in the trouble shooting section, that when you can't print . . . unplug the USB cable AND the power cable. Had not been unplugging the power cable. When I pulled both out, left them unplug for about 10 seconds and plugged back in . . . it worked. Hope this "fix" continues to work--perhaps it does the same thing the solution guys was doing with the capacitor (unplugging the power)???

    I was delighted the first time that I used this printer! However the very next time it told me that it was not connected to my computer or that the driver needed to be installed; also to reset which I have tried to do and I have reinstalled and removed software numerous times and I'm still getting an error when I click print! Any solutions? I have Windows XP OS. Thank you!

    Same Problem. Worked great once. Now it is not recognized at all. I even tried "shorting the USB". Nothing...

I'm surely not a profound computer expert, but I was having the same problems that were posted here, unter Vista. The P11 worked fine right after the installation and did not work any more after re-starting the computer. The design application still worked, but once you wanted to print the system told you that you would have to reset the printer which was not possible as it was not recognized by the computer etc. like quite a few of you reported.

This is how I could fix the problem, rather coincidently:

Be sure that you have the printer application stored to your computer. Don't worry for a moment that it doesn't work fine and that you get all the mentioned reports.

Then open your system software:

Computer ---> Vista (C:) ---> Applications ---> CD/DVD Printer ---> Driver ---> DPInst.exe

After having installed the DPInst.exe everything worked fine, and it still worked fine after re-starting the computer.

As said in the beginning, I'm clearly not a computer "guru" (but I'm having clients that expect well-labelled CDs), and I'm writing this post from Germany with a German language Windows system; so I'm not sure wether "applications" is the right term as over here they use the term "Programme". But I'm sure that you'll find it out ;-)) All the other terms in the above line are in English independent of the prefered language of your computer system.

As the problems that I had unter Vista were quite the same as reported here with XP it *might* sucessful to try the same procedure with "XP (C:)" instead of "Vista (C:)"

Nevertheless it's a shame that Teac doesn't offer an installation suite that installed the required drives.

Hope that I could help at least a few of you who are facing the same problems.

Heres my solution...dont buy the teac printer or any anything from teac ever again.
i bought the teach thermal printer because it was advertised as easy to use. but really it is the most difficult piece of hardware ive dealt with in years
i installed it exactly like it said to do it, and it tells me i cant print my cds because i dont have the driver(SHOULDNT THE DRIVER COME WITH THE CD???) and now ive spent countless hours searching for a teac p11/kit driver and it is impossbile. even this site wont help me.

This printer appears to be a rebadged Primera Signature Z1, which is the one I have. I went through 2 of them before I discovered that there is a problem with the USB interface inside the printer. If it is disconnected and reconnected, or if the computer is restarted too many times, the USB interface in the printer stops responding. If you unplug it from the computer and leave it overnight, it will work normally again. I believe there is a capacitive circuit inside that is not discharging when it should. I have also been able to make mine start working again by unplugging the USB cable from the computer (leave it plugged in to the printer) and shorting the USB connector with a paper clip. I wouldn't reccommend that to anyone though, it is safer just to unplug it and leave it overnight.

Turn power off to printer . then
go to apps page not desktop page in windows 8
type in the search box
go to services and stop the print spooler service and then restart it

My printer is not being recognized by my computer

Make sure connections are tight and drivers are configured properly in the Print and Fax window when you go to Properties for the printer settings.

Several things can cause a ribbon to break. Let's start with the simplest - cleaning. Use your cleaning kit to clean the rollers and print head. If the rollers are dirty, cards can slip and cause ribbons to break. Another is the TOF setting. If the print image is too close to the front edge, the ribbon will break.

Check these 2 things and see if this helps!

Unable to print or only prints one page

My brother dcp tells me
unable to print check troubleshooing and maintenance chapters.
I have done this and cleaned the printer, it also tells me ink jets empty, they are all new ones.
Driving me mad any suggestions so I can get my sanity back.

Teac p11 will not print goes through the motions. cleaned head changed cartridge still not printing

First think to do :

Assure that your printer is the default one and the driver is active

After :

Assure your firewall allow the printer software

After :

Verify your cable by trying a new one

After :

Unplug your printer to your computer
Uninstall the printer driver
Restart your computer without the printer plug in
Plug your printer
Leave Windows install the driver by itself
If it cannot
Assure that you have no printer driver install, if yes, uninstall it
Install the printer driver with your CD
Assure the driver is active
Assure the printer is the default one

Computer freezes up (Hangs)

On Vista it's not working cuz u don't have propper driver installed for ur printer, as for PC freezing, chek printer's settings in XP, if it's set to print imidiatelly and not spool print jobs first, it could be ur problem.
