Question about LG L1917S-BN 19" LCD Monitor
I have an LG L1917S screen, and I seem to have problems with it coming on. Sometimes it'll work, and other times it'll not turn on and the power light just blinks at me.
I've checked all cables, I've tried plugging it into another PC, I've tried my spare monitor (LG L1710B) which works fine....and I've had 6+ replacements from LG over the last year, each of which has the same problem.
My girlfriend has the exact same screen, and the exact same video card (BFG 7600GS 512MB AGP) with reguarly updated drivers. In fact, apart from me having 400watt psu and hers being 350watt, our systems are identical.
Short of just buying a new screen, is there anything that can be done to fix this? I'm at my wit's end here =P
The bulb is dying in the back. These monitors are famous for it. You can look on ebay for a new backlight, but It's not easy to find.

Electrolytic capacitors you have to take the cover off the power supply to get to them. 3 of them will be 1000 uf @ 16v and the other 3 will be 1000 uf @ 35v the tops of them will probaly be bulged up replace those and that should solve your problem. you can replace all 6 with 1000 uf @35v and get them at radio shack for $1.79 each.
