vista will not recognize the device. i plug it in before i boot up, and nothing is recognized.

Unfortunately this device doesn't look to be fully compatible with vista and this is a common problem. You may be better off just buying a conventional headset that hooks up through the sound card. If you have any questions or need further assistance please let me know.
