Question about GE WCVH6260F Front Load Washer
Our 6-month old washer goes through the initial wash cycle but does not spin the excess water out at the end of cycles. Many minutes before the end, the Pause/Start button light starts flashing -> when pushed, the washer starts water flowing into the drum for many minutes but does not ever get to the spin cycle.
I had the same problem. I read this forum and started to investigate. You simply take the 3 screws out from under the front lip. I put a cake pan under the lip of the drain and unscrewed the filter to take out the stinky water. Once it won't unscrew anymore pull the filter out and clean. Replace the same way you took it apart. ....and no, it's not in your manual for this model

Thank you ...thank you...thank you. i never knew that there was a filter..as ge manuel says nothing about that. got 2.75 in change, a few rusted screws and assorted other **** out of it. runs like new

UPDATE: Turns out my filter was clogged and the pump burned out. I cleaned the filter and still no pumping. I replaced the pump and now the machine works like new - cycle times are correct. Bought the pump from GE and then haggled with them to refund the money, and they did.

This was amazing, removed the three screws to the front panel, unscrewed the filter (have a cake pan ready for the water and stuff) cleaned it, found $1.26 a necklace and a ton of lint...hope this is where the stagnite odor was coming from. Thanks for the help, it took about twenty minutes. It was harder to put the screws back in the front panel, than anything!

Mine did the same thing and it's because your hot water faucet needs to be on. I kept mine off because it leaked, so I have to turn the hot water faucet off and on each time, But the washer goes thru the cycle now. Only thing is, I cant wash in cold only. can't figure out why

Yes I have to agree with the previous posting. I had the same problem and the service tech for GE came out to repair. It is exactly what the previous posting says. That is what the tech did and agreed it is a common problem.
