The network card can be purchased online for apx. $10.00, yes she can replace the card easly, have her open the computer case with the computer turned off and the power cord unplugged. Locate the old pci network card, remove the screw holding the card, pull out the old card and insert the new card, put the screw back in, plug in the power cord and connect the cat5 cable, restart the computer. The found new hardware wizard will find the new network card, insert the CD that came with the new card and following the instructions on the monitor. BPCS

Compaq FS7600 Computer not turning on

what tower? model, the monitor has nothing to do with power and dead fans in the tower.
'Sounds, (and silent to) means the PLUS in the PC is dead.
all things can be repaired, that is what technicians do.
here is the chain of events, ! to get noise (fans)
power in the wall 120vac , usa
power to the PSU,
the power button goes to the MOBO, and standby power is there
now and pushing said button the MOBO commands the PSU on
if the PSU is happy (PWROK) thinks PSU IS safe the PSU tells the PC its ok, and power stays up.
and fans run.

so my guess bad PSU, its easy to test with anyf $10 voltmeter,
ask.

tower PSU, 101

My compaq fs7600 monitor wont turn on

Hook a spare monitor to the computer, if no change! the Video Graphics Card is suspect usually built into the motherboard. But if spare shows picture, the problem lies in the HP monitor, as a last resort change the video cord from the computer to the monitor "if possible" to rule out something simple.

Monitor flashing black lines fs7600

It's time to responsibly recycle any CRT monitor,
and either find a friend who has a CRT monitor that is gathering dust, and offer to take it off their hands, or to spend $50 (or $100) to buy a used (or new) 17" LCD monitor.

Screen color is bad on compaq fs7600 green color

Hi, purchase some canned air from an office supply store (at least 2 cans). Unplug the monitor and computer. use the canned air to blow out all the vent holes of the monitor. Then open the computer case and use the other can to blow out the computer - pay special attention to fans and power supply. If you have an add on video card.remove the screw and remove the card, reinsert in into the slot firmly and replace the screw. Close the case. Leave both unplugged for at least one day. Then plug both back in and use the buttons on the front of the monitor to enter the monitor menu. then use the menu to reset the monitor. Turn on the computer and check function.
Take care

The monitor is just a display device, it how fast your PC is. I can easily surf the web for simple email and browsing the net with P3 1.GHz machine running XP PRO. You will need WIFI card for the PC.

How do I see if my computer has a network card?

Not sure whether FS7600 really the model of the desktop. That seems to be rather the model name of a HP Compaq 17" CT monitor. Look at this link

In order to check whether your computer has a network card, look at the back side and if there is a plug like this,

36251cc.jpg

with 8 contacts, it has probably a network card. In this case an ethernet card.
