I get this error just about every time i wash a load. I reset it but it happens again. Any help?

Washer stops every minute. Seems door lock goes off (clicks and light goes off) and washer stops. If I put pressure on the door, hold it shut tighter, it worked better for awhile. Then it started to click and shut off every minute. Also got beeping and an F11 code, but not every time, just once last week. Now I hold the door shut tight with a mop braced against the washer door and the wall. If i don't get it just right, it shuts off. And if the mop falls down, the washer shuts off. Will print off instructions for F11 code and try that.

Well......I was finally able to come across some real help from "jsrock516" on this site. He was able to give step by step advise on the first, second and final stages of repairing the "F-11", as well as the "dl" codes on my Whirlpool Duet washer. His information is so well written that it is as if he were holding your hand and walking you right through it all. Please read his advise before picking up the phone and calling a repairman......in four simple, easy to follow paragraphs he was able to save me hundreds of dollars!!

I also noticed that the screws that hold the door latch sensor unit to the washer were very loose. If you open the washer door, the two screws are located to your right. One screw is above and one screw is below the "black box", as one may call it. Tightening these will help stabilize the unit.

Checking your actual door latch and checking those screws may help as well. Open your washer door and look inside the door handle. These screws work on a slide plate so you can adjust the fit into your "little black box". Realistically, if this is not making and maintaining correct contact with the internal door latch control unit you may continue to have your "dl" error even after replacing...(if you must).....the door latch control unit.

Also, please make sure your washer is completely level. On the spin cycle your windows should not rattle......even in a mobile home. This washer's spin cycle is intense and on the optional pedestal it does not seem to lay as even as having the washer its self on the floor. Remember, if your floor is not level, you must make the adjustments on your washer to make it level. This will help in the shaking that seems to cause the door latch control unit wire connectors from shaking loose.

We just got the unit this month.....and we've been getting the F11 one minute before the cycle is done.....must be the door latch.

Nice question. Click on 'experts' on the home page of Fixya; you'll find him somewhere as you scroll down, click on him, & then click on his "Fixya!" solutions. Then scroll down looking for F11 or your machine model. Whew! All the best.

sandman93, here it is!! jsrock516 is cool.

F11 is a serial communications error. This is a symptom of an electronic control board starting to go bad. As defined by the technical information provided by Whirlpool, the error could also be caused by a loose or broken wire connector and/or the central control unit (CCU) (front panel). I would double check all your wire connections leading to the control board and CCU, first. Don't be surprised, however, if the problem persists and you eventually have to replace the electronic control board. To check, follow these steps:

    1. Unplug washer.
    2. Remove the three screws along the top of the washer in the rear that holds the top panel on.
    3. Once the screws are removed the top should slide back then lift up.
    4. The electronic control board is gray (or white) in color and located in the rear of the washer. It's impossible to miss. Double check all the connections ONE AT A TIME.
    5. Double check the wire harness connections leading to the front panel as well.

I hope this resolves your problem, but experience has proven that this is usually an Electronic Control Board failure. It could actually be a combination of the CCU as well. The part numbers are as follows:

    Electronic Control Board: 959503
    Central Control Unit: 1025824

Both boards cost about $150 each. Let me know if this helps you.

E220 error drying

i came across a hotpoint had error E220
it turned out to be the pump housing was cracked and leeking water back to the motor windings and they had gone short
and the brushes on the drum motor were worn away

replacing the pump rear section and the brushes
and resetting the error {hold in power btn power up at the mains}
cure it
i then had to come back too it and replace a faulty 1Amp triac and its driver transistor on the machines micro/control board
because although it worked aok the triac already had been damaged
and the increase in duty etc of the new pump
tipped it over the edge
replacing these two parts cure it for good
that was over a year ago and no new problems

I have a toshiba 40 inch flat tv. I cannot make it full screen. It is as if it has black margin around the picture making it appear like a 32 inch tv. What do I do?

If this is reffering to having a pc/laptop plugged into the screen, try starting the computer with the tv already plugged in and on the correct channel. If this doesn't cure your problem then try setting the screen resolution in your display properties. set to 1920x1080 or 1280x720, this should cure your problem, if this is not a computer related issue, have a look in the display settings for your tv and see if there is a resize option or similar to adjust the image size.

Hope that this helps.

Suddenly we are getting a double image, red set and green set. Audio is fine. Magic focus doesn't help at all. Can you please advise?

Hi Steven,
If the symptom didn't cure by convergence adjustment through the remote control, this is an indication of faulty convergence board inside. You may replace the convergence IC's and some of the resistor around because its already gone bad. You may also replace the entire convergence board for your convenient. If the board replaced with new one, your unit will back to normal again. Also, consider bad solder joints in that area, it will do the same symptom like what you've encountered right now. Find it first and re-solder. If you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't do the job yourself, I would advise you to look for a qualified technician to isolate the problem.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

My alarm keeps going off for no apparent reason, does anyone know why this is happening and if there is a cure

hood sensor switch. unplug it. done. won't make any difference to the operation of the alarm if its unplugged, it's just not in the alarm system anymore to cause a faulty alarm sound.

think about it though. car alarms are useless. so it goes off...big deal, whaddya going to do, shoot the guy breaking in. he's already armed. call the police? oh, by the time they get there...he's long gone.

If i buy an external cooling fan will it cure on my E74 problem

If you are getting this error message, then the hardware has already failed and will need to be repaired. Look online for alot of do it yourself articles. They are not that hard to fix and the parts have gotten fairly reasonable via eBay. Just patience and courage...you can't break anything because it's already broken.

Also, check around your area and call some computer repair places. They fix this for a reasonable price.
