I get this error just about every time i wash a load. I reset it but it happens again. Any help?

Washer stops every minute. Seems door lock goes off (clicks and light goes off) and washer stops. If I put pressure on the door, hold it shut tighter, it worked better for awhile. Then it started to click and shut off every minute. Also got beeping and an F11 code, but not every time, just once last week. Now I hold the door shut tight with a mop braced against the washer door and the wall. If i don't get it just right, it shuts off. And if the mop falls down, the washer shuts off. Will print off instructions for F11 code and try that.

Well......I was finally able to come across some real help from "jsrock516" on this site. He was able to give step by step advise on the first, second and final stages of repairing the "F-11", as well as the "dl" codes on my Whirlpool Duet washer. His information is so well written that it is as if he were holding your hand and walking you right through it all. Please read his advise before picking up the phone and calling a four simple, easy to follow paragraphs he was able to save me hundreds of dollars!!

I also noticed that the screws that hold the door latch sensor unit to the washer were very loose. If you open the washer door, the two screws are located to your right. One screw is above and one screw is below the "black box", as one may call it. Tightening these will help stabilize the unit.

Checking your actual door latch and checking those screws may help as well. Open your washer door and look inside the door handle. These screws work on a slide plate so you can adjust the fit into your "little black box". Realistically, if this is not making and maintaining correct contact with the internal door latch control unit you may continue to have your "dl" error even after replacing...(if you must).....the door latch control unit.

Also, please make sure your washer is completely level. On the spin cycle your windows should not rattle......even in a mobile home. This washer's spin cycle is intense and on the optional pedestal it does not seem to lay as even as having the washer its self on the floor. Remember, if your floor is not level, you must make the adjustments on your washer to make it level. This will help in the shaking that seems to cause the door latch control unit wire connectors from shaking loose.

Nice question. Click on 'experts' on the home page of Fixya; you'll find him somewhere as you scroll down, click on him, & then click on his "Fixya!" solutions. Then scroll down looking for F11 or your machine model. Whew! All the best.

sandman93, here it is!! jsrock516 is cool.

F11 is a serial communications error. This is a symptom of an electronic control board starting to go bad. As defined by the technical information provided by Whirlpool, the error could also be caused by a loose or broken wire connector and/or the central control unit (CCU) (front panel). I would double check all your wire connections leading to the control board and CCU, first. Don't be surprised, however, if the problem persists and you eventually have to replace the electronic control board. To check, follow these steps:

    1. Unplug washer.
    2. Remove the three screws along the top of the washer in the rear that holds the top panel on.
    3. Once the screws are removed the top should slide back then lift up.
    4. The electronic control board is gray (or white) in color and located in the rear of the washer. It's impossible to miss. Double check all the connections ONE AT A TIME.
    5. Double check the wire harness connections leading to the front panel as well.

I hope this resolves your problem, but experience has proven that this is usually an Electronic Control Board failure. It could actually be a combination of the CCU as well. The part numbers are as follows:

    Electronic Control Board: 959503
    Central Control Unit: 1025824

Both boards cost about $150 each. Let me know if this helps you.

I have a Whirlpool Duet with a code F 11. I replaced the CCU, do you think its the Motor Control Board or is it time to recycle?

Thanks for using FixYa. F11 is a communication error between the central control unit (CCU) and the motor control unit (MCU). As you have already replaced the CCU then to start with check the wire harness connections between CCU and MCU, and then check the motor. If both of them appear to be working fine then it seems that the MCU of your washer has gone bad as the control unit seems to be working fine. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

I keep getting an f 11 error code? what seems to

F11 is the code for a communication error between the CCU and motor control unit.  sometimes just re-seating the connectors on the CCU cures it.  if not, odds are it is a faulty CCU and needs to be replaced.
