Plug off the wall; open up behind. You will find a thin hose running from the switch area to the outlet area. Carefully try the hose clip to remove the hose from the top, blow into it - it should be free. Free it by removing anything blocking it, usually some dirt from below; the hose should not be kinked. Refix. This is the water level hose, which signals the machine to start or stop water.

Kenmore Washer only leaking from one area

Ive never worked on a Kenmore but it may just be the overflow outlet. All washing machines have an overflow which will dump water out from the top of the tub if it overfills but sometimes on high fill water level, clothes can splash around and cause a "wave" of water to splash out over the overflow outlet. Check to see if the leak only occurs when you have selected high level fill.

Water Overflow

hi there,

i would recommend checking the water level switch or lid switch and also the cable leading to it. that is what sends a signal to the machine control to stop filling with water.

Water sometimes does not shut off. flooded twice. happens intermittently.

If when the machine is flooding if you turn off power to the machine and it continues to fill: replace water inlet valve. If flooding water stops filling when power is interupted: clean out the end of the water level switch tube where it connects to the outer wash tub.

Washer is filling up with to much water...

possible fill valve is sticking open when filling after starting washer disconnect power and listen to see if water is still running in if so replace fill valve.. if water stops possible water level switch or small hose to switch plugged ..drain washer remove screws on each side of door frame front will pull off...small hose on some models was attached to pump housing and would become plugged with lint ckd for restriction in hose from bottom to top remove screws in console to acess other end attached to pressure switch
