Philips 37PF7320A/37 won't turn on. Error code 1 long, 4 short (code 14 according to some users on Fixya). The set clicks on then clicks off a second later, and the red LED displays the error code. I replaced the Audio Standboy board, which some users on Fixya suggested was the problem indicated by that code, but that didn't work. The set remains unchanged with the same error code. The new board was from a 37PF7320A/37b with a cracked LCD screen.
My next attack is at the PSU, but that's an expensive part to replace. I have the knowledge and expertise to replace individual components, but I do not have the equipment to test them. There are no leaky or bulging capacitors or obvious burn marks - there is a little bit of carbon buildup on the RCA connectors for the side audio input, but no burnt or blackened components on any of the PCBs.
My question is whether or not the failed componenets are predictable. This post: http://www.fixya.com/support/t2930430-tv_will_not_stay_powers_up and this one: http://www.fixya.com/support/t1738135-philips_lcd both suggest yes. If the failed components are predictable (ie this capacator and that IC), can someone tell me which ones they are so I can replace them?
http://stores.ebay.com/techfetch - search for item containing 310432847531 or 310432838621 - those are the two compatible power board models for your TV
I too own a Philips TV so my electronics skills are being honed as a result. My theory on your problem is that the power supply is not supplying the correct power to the ASB, therefore the 14 is a false error, assuming that your replacement board is correct and working.
My advice on the PSU would be to replace all the electrolytics that are about the diameter of a AA battery.
There are four main ones that, as I recall, are three 1000mf 35V, and one 1200mf 35V....on my TV the 1200 had popped open entirely. It
These are all on the far-end away from the power connection, three of them tend to be glued together, and the fourth one stands alone.
search on ebay and for "magnavox power supply kit" there a is replacement kit for the caps and some diodes in the PSU. I bought a second-hand PSU board for $50 on ebay for my 37mfd337

I have a Philips Flat Screen Model # 37PF7320A/37 and I am having a problem with the menu screen constantly being displayed onthe screen and cannot be removed. No matter what you do, it pops right back on automatically. When you scroll down and hit the exit button, it goes off and comes back on within seconds. When you turn the tv off and on, the same thing happens. I am unable to use my tv because of this. I constantly press the buttons on the side of the tv to try to get the menu screen to be removed and to no avail. I have been doing all of this manually and without the remote. Please advise as to how I can get this removed and use the tv. Thank you.

Hi, I got a Philips 37 inch LCD model 37PF9431D/37 that shut offs by itself and the power LED blinks red a single time followed by two fast blinks. Problem is similar to the ones described by other people here. Any hints? Do I have a bad power supply? Any idea how I can get a service manual and schematics for this model?
Appreciate any help. Thanks.
