What type of chain does a 18" poulan wildthing use?

I have enclosed a link to sears parts direct. It's a link to the manual, which does have a link to download, it so you can save it for future use.

This could be a couple of things, if the fuel tank brather is blocke the tank will vacume, to test this try slackening off the fuel cap when the saw starts to die, if it picks up again it is a fuel tank braether issue, the other possibility is a bad ignition unit breaking down, the only test for this is to replace the unit and try again.

I call it a clutch cover, Poulan calls it a "Chain Brake Assembly", pn 545139903 for Type 1 or 2 - 2375 WildThing.

Item 18 on the "Engine Assembly" detail IPL here:

The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best; components are listed but may be on different illustrations.

There are multiple drawings, this one may not be the correct one. The detail isn't very good but this is the best illustration for your saw. The "Handle, Chassis, and Bar Assembly" shows what is available. GL

You need to adjust the idle and high speed screw settings on the saw. Consult your user manual for tuning the engine.

you can not set the compression on two cycle motors,the compression new is at about 90 to 95 pounds after six to nine pulls of the recoil
