Question about Heating & Cooling
My air conditioner remote is not working .can someone help me please?
- check if the battery is still good
- check if the receiver of the unit is clean and no obstruction.
- Some of remote control have a reset switch, every time you change it with battery you have to reset it.
- Some of remote control have A and B selector at board and remote control, check this if they set at the same frequency.
- To check if the remote control still working you have to test your remote control to other unit with same model as yours. If its not working then replace your remote control. But if its working then you have to replace your receiver board.
- Some remote control have to be reconfigure so you have to read your manual.

SOURCE: Hi I have a starway
I have a different problem subscription but perhaps it could be the same source...In my apartment are two Starway airconditions. I have two remote controls. Both are working at the one in the living room. Before also both were working at the one in the bedroom. Now the bedroom-aircondition suddenly doesn't switches on or even do a beep on any of these remote controls... I've had this problem once before (some weeks ago) and after a while luckily it was able to be switched on again - like magic. Now it's not working since a day. The red power LED was on and the green 'running' LED was flashing. I already switched off the power for a while (with the fuse for the whole room). The red power led was off during this time. It comes up again the moment I switched the power back on, but that's it. Nothing more is working. It cannot be related to the remotes, because both are working normally at the living room.A small clue - the fan outside is a little bended and scratches a very little at the metal case. So the resistance for the motor could be a little higher to turn the fan. But this is since I'm in this apartment (3month) and seemed to be like this a long time ago, too...Does somebody has any ideas to check? I need it urgently back in service, because I use it for heating and it's getting really cold now in the bedroom :-/
I don't know if this could also be the problem from the person that started this thread. Perhaps your old remote control was working (like mine) and just the aircondition doesn't work with any remote any more. So your universal remote could hit the right numbers but nothing will happen ...
Anybody else had a problem like this?

when you restart the unit monitor the outdoor unit and see if the compressor and outdoor fan starts up . before the beeps . you can try reseting everything by disconecting all power to outdoor unit .
hope this helps please leave fead back / keep me informed

SOURCE: Hi, the air conditioner is
Make sure the batteries are good. DO NOT trust the batteries that came with the remote, they are often old. Be sure if there is a switch on the A/C that needs to be on for the remote to work.
Some LG's have modes they can be set in that do not allow the remote to work.
Make sure that you can point the remote directly at the A/C as they are notorius for not working well from a distance, or when not pointed at with the remote!
