No picture, monitor won't show anything black screen. Monitor was working fine put it on another computer and it won't show images. Could it be part of the power saving system? Is there a reset button?

Does the monitor show absolutely nothing, not even when first turned on? In that case maybe the cable could be defective or connected improperly, or the new computer might not be compatible (or set to output to, say, digital port, while you've got a SVGA monitor). In that case you'll need to connect a working monitor for the time required to reconfigure the computer.

If the image does appears at boot, or resetting the computer, and then disappears, it could be that the new computer is set to a resolution which is too high for the monitor, which goes in protection mode and effectively turns off. Again you'll have to gain access to the computer (maybe booting in Safe Mode) and lower its video resolution to something the monitor can handle.

Hope this helps, have a nice day

Monitor blue light comes on shows emachines logo and color bars then monitor turns off and light turns yellow

your monitor is beleiving it is not receiving any signal from your pc. 1 make sure your cables are secure. 2 make sure your pc is on. 3 borrow a monitor from a freind to see if your pc is sending the signal out, if the borrowewed monitor is showing a picture, hook yours back up. 4 if still not picture your mpcb or video pcb in the monitor is bad.

Even if i switch on my computer with moniter it doesnt show anything on moniter screen it remains black

Hello. With the computer and monitor OFF, disconnect the signal cable from the video card on your system. Next, turn on the monitor. There should be a bright green box with a pink outline of a video connector inside showing. If there isn't, and the monitor is definitely powered up, then there is an internal problem. If there IS a little green box, etc., the video card in your system is suspect.
  • 1) When turning on the monitor, do you hear the sound of the high voltage initiating?(i.e. you should hear some type of electronic noise like a vibration or crackling of static on the picture tube)
  • 2) If you do hear that high voltage kicking in, it may very well mean that the picture tube is dead and getting a replacement monitor is in your future.
  • 3) If you don't hear the high voltage, quite possibly the transformer that produces it(called a flyback transformer) is defective.
Due to the vast array of inexpensive monitors available, you probably should consider getting a new unit--the cost of a new display will rival the cost of the repair--and you get a fresh warranty to boot. If the picture tube is gone, there's no choice.---Rick

On my monitor it is showing some waves... picture is not clear.. showing some lines(less darken)

If it is a flat screen monitor: you should try different monitor resolutions and refresh rates. Specifically, you should set your resolution and refresh rate to the specifications set by Sony. You can also use the "detect displays" button in the "display" system preferences.
If it is a CRT: Try the above, but also try "degaussing" your monitor. This is a command on the monitor itself, and it's location depends on the brand / model. turn on the On Screen Display menu and look around for it.

Power on but display cuts out

Sounds like the backlight's gone. You can try to open up the case and replace it, but an easier (and probably cheaper) option is to simply buy a new monitor

Bank Monitor problems

Unplug the cable from your PC, if the monitor shows a test image, the monitor is fine and the problem is with your graphic card. If you dont see nothing on-screen after unpluging the cable from the PC, then the monitor in damaged. Send it to repair.
