Unit will not power on.

its probably not the battery, your gps should run even without a battery if the power port/circuit is ok. unfortunately this is a common problem that the usb port gets damaged with this and many other model of magellans gps systems.

if you had it plugged in to the car charger, make sure the green light is on while charging, if its not, you might have a blown fuse in the charger or the fuse for the cigarette adapter in the car.

if the green light is on, try letting it on for a few hours, then try and turn it on. if and when it turns on, you can verify if its charging by going to the system settings then the power option. the battery bar should turn green and move from right to left if its charging. if the battery is slightly low but the bar is not moving left to right, then its not charging.


you can check the charging by using the usb cable provided with your unit and hook it up to your computer to verify if its charging. but i suspect it has a bad power port (usb connector)

i hate to be the barer of bad news, because rarely do i get a good rating for being the barer of bad news, but hopefully you just have a bad charger or a blown fuse in your adapter or car.
