Sony VPL CS6 in darkness !

The lamp on the projector stopped working and so wasreplaced... this did not solve the problem and am wondering if anyone has come across this type of problem or has any suggestions to get this great projector up and running again...
the projector powers up ... lens cover opens .... props itself up on its middle leg.... and after about 20-30 seconds winds down and closes lens cover ... all without the lamp powering up

things i have checked : continuity from the lamp socket to bulb... checked for voltage but was only 10v ac from the socket that the bulb housing connects to.... i just dont know what to look for next

thanks in advance to any one for checking this out

I replaced bulb followed the instructions: connected power cord and then on my remote pressed reset, left arrow, right arrow and then enter and I still have the same problem. I power it up the lens opens the stand rises and then goes into lamp/cover indicator light stays solid.

Make sure the interlock switch is activated by the cover of the lamp.
Can't measure a voltage with the lamp cover open. High voltage is powering the lamp from an smps or ballast supply. If lamp is New, cover switch is good, then the lamp power supply could be faulty.

I found a solution that worked for me:
1. Turn on the projector
2. Press "Power > Left > Left > MENU" (Opens the system menu)
3. Choose "RD Menu"
4. Choose " EEPROM Restore" (the projector turn off and the power lamp blink red for about 1 minut. Then it stops)
5. Turn on the projector again and it should word again

hi,
ur projectors lamp cooling fan have some problem. if the fan stopped the lamp will get over heated, that's why cooling fan is must. its a warning message if not it will create some problem to ur projector's lamp. u should use the projector only after solving the fan problem.

BENQ PB6110 - will not power on

Hi I am Vortash check the lamp housing is secure as most units have a safety switch on them to disconect the projector from the supply while a bulb is inserted .. I fthis is secure and the fuse is not blown I suspect the lamp or the ballast .. look for dry joints on the board for the lamp or unseated plugs other than that unless your friend can trace the psu switch mode power supply back to it's individual outputs and check that it is working correctly your going to have to take it to an engineer sorry .. hope this helps Regards Vortash

Panasonic PT-AE900U Projector Lamp stops working (intermittent)

since it has worked 1200 hours or even more since u have been resetting the counter! just change the lamp, resetting the counter does not make the lamp work or not work , it is only a reminder for the user to change the bulb when it should be & that u have some balance hours left to procure a new lamp!
if the brightness is adequate, then it is a ballast problem & not lamp problem!
buy a new lamp as u will anyway need to , fit it & it may solve ur problems permanently!

Sanyo PLV 70 - Power Won't Turn On

it could that the plastic stem on the inside of the lamp cover on the underside of the projector may have snapped off. if it has you'll have to wedge something onto the cross shaped hole, to keep button inside the hole pressed in, in order for the projector to turn on

InFocus LP725 light goes out after 10 minutes

The Projector will turn off after so many hours of running the same bulb module. The counter will turn on a replace bulb LED. Installing the new bulb module should reset the counter and turn off the LED.

Check the projector’s lamp to ensure that it is securely connected
in the lamp module. Make sure by removing it and reinserting it.

Check the cables for problems.

When testing, power up in this order. Projector, Computer monitor, Computer.

A minor power surge may cause the lamp to shut off. Turn the
projector off, wait at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

I hope these suggestions help
