Re: porjecter/laptop

There should be a standard hook-up cable available for the back of your projector to your laptop. Go to your local computer shop and they will help you. You will need to know what configuration is on both the laptop and projector. ie. male or female connector. The laptop has a female connection mostly and so does the projector. Therefore you will need a double male if this is the case. God bless, Capt. Hannu

Your laptop will have a FN key and an 'F' key with a symbol that looks like two monitors side by side or even VGA/CRT. you need to simultaneosly press the FN and the specific 'F' key. This will then send the signal from the laptop to the projector. Wait a few moments for the projector to find the sopurce. Usually you have to do this three times to get the image on both your laptop and your projector.

Good luck

VGA source is not working.

if you are using a laptop as a source, note that the VGA output is not active by default. You need to access your display settings on the laptop and set it up for dual output.

How do I replace the lamp? Do I need just the bulb, or also the housing?

just the bulb.. write down the model number of the unit and they will give you the same bulb that you need, just give them the model number.

If you are going to install the bulb just remember DO NOT HOLD directly the bulb, use any clothe or gloves, because even a fingerprint can busted the bulb even thou it's not yet use

Missing Driver for Epson Powerlite?

as far as I know there isn't any vista compatible software to download.
try reinstalling the drivers or If you find out what software is needed you could emulate it but that can be trickey and eats up loads of ram
as long as your new laptop isn't a dell you should be able to easely back-up your data, partition your hard drive and install xp on a partitio.
If you have a hp depending on the model you could even switch between os without turning off the computer.

Philips DLP front view projector will not display my presentation

Most modern computers don't care which is plugged in first and/or turned on first... But, it can't hurt to have them both plugged in, then turn on the projector - then the computer. If the computer doesn't send a signal automatically on bootup, then you will need to tell it to...

On the function keys at the top of your laptop keyboard, there are some indications (most computer brands are different from one another so it might be one of several indications). Look for something that either looks like a small monitor or two, or label that says "crt/lcd" - this will be in a highlighted color that matches the color of your Fn key to the left of the spacebar. Fress "Fn" and the corresponding key at the top at the same time and you should get some changes from the computer. Depending on your video card, you might need to press it several times to cycle through the various settings of 1)computer screen, 2)display output only, 3)both computer screen & display output, and in some cases 4)no display sent.

Hope this helps! If not, I would check/try new or different cables from the computer to the projector in case you might just have a bad one.

Torpedo projector

you need a machine like this one:  copy & paste that into your browser address bar.  You can probably find them elsewhere too, but this is one place to get these things.  They take a VGA signal for video and a USB for power and convert them into RCA & S-Video, which are compatable with the projector. :)  Hope that helps
