The Sony VAIO CS-series Computer model has a known issue with its fan. If the fan is making abnormally loud noise and causing the Computer to shut off then service will be required. You can contact Sony Service Center to get the Computer repaired.
However, if the fan is not making loud noise but the Computer is shutting off automatically then possibly it may be a virus or the failure of the power supply unit. In this case, you may run complete system scan using an updated Antivirus program such as Norton to check for any potential threat. Furthermore, you can perform the C: Drive Restore using the VAIO Recovery Center or complete System recovery using the Recovery disc to ensure that the issue is not related to Software.
Follow the instructions given in the link below to access and use the various features of the VAIO Recovery Center:
http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C1001992
Click on the sublinks given in the blue text on the page to view further information.
If the issue persists even after system recovery then the problem is related to the power supply unit.
There are many things that could be causing this problem: bad processor fan, processor failure, bad power supply - these are the more probable causes. There really is no way you are going to know until you take it to a shop and let them test it.
