When my washing machine goes to drain the dirty water out of it, the plastic flexible tube that runs from the washing machine leads to a larger metal pipe that goes into the ground. Instead of just draining like its supposed to though the water starts to overflow out the top of the metal pipe almost like the metal pipe that leads into the ground is clogged. How do I fix this problem? Would liquid plumber work?

Yes it can hopefully it won't, hope it goes thru the large drain tube and sticks in the drain screen, problems it can cause it if turns the right way it can bind the rotation of the basket during agitation or spin causing a fault code to get pin out unscrew the cap on the drain filter to remove residual water remove the heater in the plastic tub 10mm nut loosen and pull out you should be able to see the pen fish it out. Forgot drain filter behind lower front panel.
If the smell is coming from the drain in the sink, it is more likely that THERE is the problem rather than the washing machine. Washing machines deal only with 'dirty' clothes whereas sinks have all sorts of things going down them! You could have a partially blocked u-tube (not to be confused with YouTube!) in the sink because normal (changing/flowing) water in the u-tube should block smells coming from the main/foul water drainage system.
I would definitely investigate the sink! If it is not practical to remove the u-tube, use a propriatory sink cleaner ensuring that it is the right one for the job- OK for plastics or OK for metal (not chrome).
Plug off the mains. You
have to look for screws below the front kick-panel, you can raise the
machine a
bit to gain access to the screws, the panel comes down & out. You
may find a
drain hose here, on left, drain off the excess water. The pump is on the
right
side. Be prepared for dirty water. Inside the big flexible tube (coming
from
the tub bottom) is the filter, be prepared to find all sorts of junk
here,
clean out. You can pass it into a large plastic bag. Examine your pump
also,
clean out the impeller. Carefully refit all. Your machine would be fine.
Don’t
wait for the machine to jam to look into your filter.

this could be the water level switch or the small flexible plastic tube that goes from the water level switch to the side of the tub. this tube may have worked loose if the washer is vibrating too much.
