Question about Heating & Cooling
We have a split system unit FMU4460N6l
The unit fires up for about 1 or 2 secounds then shuts down.
The power light will flash once and stop for @ three secounds then flash 4 times.
hope someone can help me fire this unit up as it's starting to warm up.
we have 4 indoor units of this outdoor unit.
Sounds like the unit needs a cleaning
you should call your local service man to do this

I dont have the book with me but that flashing light is giving you a code description of what is wrong. If it is only firing up for 1=2 seconds or 1 minute...be as specific as you can. this will help narrow the issue down. without having diagnosis book with me i would say on a 1=2 second shut down may be a couple of things. first power it down as mentioned above. we all have power surges and brown outs only some equipment is more sensitive to this and feels the affects, which you may have seen. secondly if you get a second set of sequences on that blinking light that will tell you there is a second or even third issue. on a possible second issue,,, check the condensor unit (outside unit) there may be something blocking the intake side of the unit causing the high pressure switch to trip (common) clear away what ever is there or even wash out the coils, of course power down the unit and only wash off the coils DO NOT WASH OR WET ANY ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. you do this at your own risk. next if you are able to get the unit to turn on for a minute get the the smaller size line that feeds the inside unit...it will probably be wrapped this is the low side and when the unit kicks on you should feel this line get cool or if you cant get to it check the high side and it should be hot. be careful when touching the hight side it can burn if you dont feel the cooling you probably have a leak and the unit will need to be reviewed/repaired/and recharged once repaired by a tech. if you are using a remote thermostat...do the common sense thing and check the connections especially if its a newer unit.
finally if none of the above took care of your issue. please call a qualified tech.
I hope this helps narrow things down and saves u some money as always you can contact me.

Try to off the power supply(circuit breaker) to reset the error and on again and start the unit. But if the symptom's persist you have to call for a qualified technician.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
