Black ink does not print. How do you disassemble print head so it may be soaked in hot water and then reassembled?

- I have yet to find a solution on how to disassemble a print head so that it can be soaked in hot water and then reassembled. I have tried all the other suggestions on how to fix a black ink cartridge that won't print black. Thanks for any help with this problem. ejsigns@q.comSolution #1

Possibly you printer has two ink tanks ? a small black one and a large one ? If one is empty it will not print black. The better solution is to use a q-tip and some alcohol to clean the head. If the cartridges have been replaced - possibly the new one is defective? U might also try using the head clean option in the printer properties. Additionally sometimes the contacts for the cartridge are dirty or if they have been touched with fingers they will not work, alcohol again is recommended to clean those.
If you mean actually disassemble the head itself - print heads are sealed units that have melted plastic "rivets" you can cut the rivets and the head will come apart into pieces showing the ink channels - however when reassembled it will never work again.

- If you mean "remove the print head " you have to disassemble the machine to do so. The plastic case usually has hidden snaps and screws underneath holding it to the carriage. Look for holes with push tabs inside, usually the end pieces come off first . then the top fron and back and you can then work on the printer mechanism.To remove the head - usually the right metal side piece removed and the entire head slides off of it's rail when the belt is removed.If you mean actually disassemble the head itself - print heads are sealed units that have melted plastic "rivets" you can cut the rivets and the head will come apart into pieces showing the ink channels - however when reassembled it will never work again.
