Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Occasionally after the connection between the tv and ps3 is reset (for example when starting/ending a game) the screen will have very thin and numerous red lines horizontally. i've tried switching hdmi ports on my tv, but nothing. i bought my cable cheap off the internet, could this be a consequence?
Im having the same problem to fix it i unhook my cable box (the video cables and the hdmi inputs to the tv) this stops the lines--try just the ps3 hooked to the tv and no other devices this should solve the problem--must be getting interference from some device

If anyone has issues with a red line jumping around intermittently on their screen, try changing the HDMI cable out. I've had 3 crapped the bed this way. Do this before you replace a tv or console, it could just be your HDMI cable crapping out.

Try to borrow a HDMI cable from someone else, or try yor setup on another HDTV, and sdee if the results are the same, then at least you can narrow down the problem to the TV or the cable.
