Well there is some resons way that does conect an disconect so many times first when the compressor start it has two coils inside the compressor the first one is just to start moving the rotor inside the compressor when that reach some RPM ii gets disconect and conect the other coil that is call constant working if this coil is bad or open thats wat that one does on and off ,,,,second one is the compressor has a thermo switch that is protection for the overheating on the compressor so if the compressor get to hot the thermo protector disconect that for 30 sec an reconect for another 10 min..........and the third one is if the fan the one pull out the heat from the condenser is not working that does overheatin on the compresssor too soo check this 3 points and fix it
