RAID drive has ''read only'' error how do ...

" "
I have a 2TB proavio RAID drive with 5 drives in it operating on Mac OS X (10.5.8) that has become read only and will not let me work off it any longer. This happened once before and I reformatted the RAID drive and everything worked fine again.
My problem is I can't remember how I did it and the company that build and installed the RAID is no longer in business to help walk me through the process.
All of the data has been backed up to another external drive... what now?
