Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WBR-2310 Wireless Router (WBR2310)

In a nut shell...Set it up, didn't work, then worked, then moved and now won't work

Okay, I am completely lost so I'm hoping one of you experts can help me.  I got my MacBook Pro in April and bought the D-Link WBR-2310 so I could have Wi-Fi in my apartment.  I also still at the time had a desktop that was a PC. I followed all of the instructions and the internet would work on my desktop but not on the laptop, in fact I couldn't open any files on the Mac.  My friend, an internet know it all came over and tried to help me, learned my ethernet card was bad in the PC and the internet stopped working in the PC but couldn't help me with my Mac and the Wi-Fi as he knows nothing about Macs.  A few weeks later, all of a sudden, the Wi-Fi started to work.
I just moved out of state about a month ago and set everything up except for my desktop as I just don't use it anymore.  The d-link router is not working again.  I'm sick of paying for internet I'm not using.
How can I reset my network and get this to work?
I am sure I gave more than enough information, but I have no idea.
Thanks in advance for the help!

While visiting Mom noticed her wireless connection not secure. Tried default login for ip address but didn't work. It is older DLink router. Have any suggestions

Here's a link to Dlink, which will have information specific to her router if you enter the model number and search for instructions
Otherwise, here's a link to an excellent website with vast resources to help you set up and maintain , as well as understand your wireless connection. There's a forum there for Dlink, as well. Questions posed there are more likely to get expert Dlink advice...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

I had my WNDA3100v2 working smoothly for the whole year. Somehow 2 days ago, it didn't find any network and completely disconnect. I have tried to uninstall/install several times but it didn't...

I doubt it's your software- I think that either the network cable or ethernet card if wired, wireless ethernet card if not, has gone bad. I'd see if you could get a known-good cable and card/s to see if that is true

Go into your settings on the router and choose a security key.

Set the same key for your laptops etc..

Cant get configuration to complete on befsr41 router

Press the reset button on the router for at least 30 seconds. release it. Unplug the power to the router . wait for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Wait for 1 minute and try to set up your router.
If you are having trouble setting up your router with the CD, then you can set up your router without CD also. You can do it manually.

First make sure that your computer is online directly through the modem without the router.
If that is working then you can connect the computer and the modem to the router. Open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the settings of the Internet service provider

Router set up.
Router is not working.
How to set up router.

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

Well there should be an icon on the botom right corner of the computer that is being conected. First you will need to right click it and say view wirlless networks. Then on the list it should show the one that is in your home tell it to conect. It might ask for a WEP password the password is on the botom of he router if you did not change it after buying it.
I hope this would help and do not forget to vote if this helps.

Password for setup program lost /WEP-key??

If by set-up program you mean, then the default password is "motorola" and username is "admin" from there you should be able to see everything you need. If you changed it from the defaults, then you might have to reset the SBG900 to factory defaults by pushing and holding the small reset button on the SBG900.

I never had to run any "setup program" to get mine working, just plug and play. If you did need to install additional software then you might have problems that I am unaware of. Hope I was able to help.
